Rehabilitation is the legal process through a High Court application by which an insolvent person is relieved of the legal implications of being an insolvent and restored to the legal status of a credit worthy solvent person.
Do i qualify?
You qualify in anyone of the following instances:
- The Liquidation and Distribution account that was prepared by the curator has been approved and only once 4 years have lapsed as from date of sequestration; or
- No claim was proceeded with against your insolvent estate, this was your first sequestration and 6 months have lapsed as from date of sequestration; or
- All approved claims and sequestration cost have been paid in full; or
- All your creditors have been paid in full.

- It ends your sequestration and you will once again be allowed to trade with the public without the assistance of your curator.
- All your debt before sequestration is discharged.
- Your name will be cleared from the database of all credit bureaus.
- You will once again be able to serve as a Director of a company and a Trustee of a Trust.
- Subject to terms and conditions of your bank and credit providers you will again be able to qualify for credit.
